With three kids under three, we have many baby blankets, but this one is BY FAR the nicest one we have!I bought two of them for our twins and now wish that I had bought more.I found them over a year ago at Toys R Us on clearance and paid $10 a piece for them, but would pay the $25 charged here on Amazon as well.They are worth it!The blankets are larger than most, with a ruffle that I thought would be annoying at first, but is not as it is terrific for laying over babies' ears when it is chilly (not too covered, just the right amount).As for their durability, I have two of them and have washed them both at least 2 dozen times in the last 15 months, and they look and feel as wonderful as they did at first.And regarding their material content, I wrote the company and asked them and this was their reply: "The surface of the velour material (brushed part) is 100% organic cotton, however, due to the nature of cotton, we cannot have 100% cotton on the back, it has to be 80% organic cotton and 20% polyester on the back (to hold the cotton fiber in place).The good thing is that the part that's facing out is 100% organic cotton".
